Gear:
Nolan N100E helmet (silver)
- works fine so far, has started leaking a little in the rain w/age

Joe Rocket Alter-Ego jacket (red)
- very versatile, fair durablity Retired, due to crash damage.

Tourmaster Flex jacket (red)
- even more versatile than the Alter-Ego, I think it's also a little more conspicuous with more red and more reflective stuff, comes with CE elbow/shoulder pads

Joe Rocket Ballistic pants
- too hot for summer wear, mediocre durability

Tourmaster Cortech pants
-

Diadora Avenue boots
- only come in full sizes, but work OK

Joe Rocket Ballistic gloves (red)
- waterproof w/thumb wiper, farily lightweight, not good on their own in the cold

Accessories/luggage
ActionPacker (see FAQ)
- makes taking the seat off a minor hassle, but otherwise great bang for the buck

FirstGear magnetic tank bag
- not what I really want, but does what I need it to

HippoHands (www.hippohands.com)
- great for keeping your hands warm, I wouldn't bother with heated grips until you've tried these on their own

Mods:
15T sprocket
- If you don't have one yet, get one now. On the '86-'87 bikes the final drive was 3:1, I don't know why they changed it. 1st gear is usable, there's more at the top of 6th, and the bike stays under 10k on the interstate.

Zero Gravity Double Bubble
- Keeps the wind off better than the stock windshield
